# Introduction

> Build market-event workflows for customers and internal teams with the Rangler API and portal.

Rangler has three separate products:

| Product | Audience | Purpose |
| - | - | - |
| Rangler web app | Analysts and investment teams | Browse filings, tracked companies, and research workflows in the Rangler product. |
| Rangler API | Fintechs, brokerages, and asset managers | Pull market data, receive Rangler events, and check for missed events in your own systems. |
| Rangler Portal | Developers and operations teams | Manage organizations, API keys, environments, usage, and delivery configuration. |

This site covers the **Rangler API** and **Rangler Portal**.

## What you can build

* fund monitoring workflows for wealth and advisory products
* issuer monitoring pipelines for brokerage and investment platforms
* standardized company financials, ratios, and links to the original statements
* compliance and disclosure monitoring for operations teams
* internal automations triggered by filings, fund disclosures, and market events

## How teams integrate

### SDKs

One integration surface across webhooks, event reads, and operational helpers.

### REST API

Query companies, filings, funds, and events directly when you need filtering, earlier records, or checks for missed events.

### Event feeds

Load earlier events and check for missed deliveries through authenticated API requests.

### Webhooks

Push matching events to your own systems as the primary product integration path.

### Portal

Use the portal to create organizations, manage API keys, switch between live and sandbox, and review usage.

## Product boundaries

* **Portal is for humans.** It is where your team signs in and manages access.
* **API is for machines.** It is where your applications fetch filing data and receive notifications.
* **Rangler web app is separate.** It is Rangler's research product, not part of the customer API contract.

8. Review [Pricing and Metering](/pricing-metering) before you treat usage as a commercial input.
9. Review [Errors](/errors) and [Retries and duplicate delivery](/idempotency) before going live.
10. Use the [API Reference](/api-reference) for endpoint-level details.
